Subaru has announced that it will change its “R”-branded trim color codes to match its current “T” trim line, a move that should help bring more customers into its lineup.
Subaru announced the change in the U.S. market in February, following months of speculation that the automaker would unveil its new Subaru trim color scheme.
Subarus already have two color schemes for their 2017 models, one for the standard “T”- and the other for the “R”, but Subaru decided to add a third in the middle of its 2019 lineup.
Subaru’s new lineup will be based on the new T trim line that Subaru introduced in January.
In order to bring more Subaru buyers into its line, Subaru is introducing a third color scheme in the mid-level sedan lineup.
This new color scheme will match the current “R-branded” Subaru trim in all subcompact and crossover models, except for the Outback and Outback Sport.
The Subaru Outback was the first Subaru to introduce a “R”(trim) color scheme to the U, and it’s now the most popular Subaru in the market.
Subaru has already added a second color scheme for the 2017 Outback, which is the “T”, which Subaru hopes will help the automaking’s sales in the country.
Subarus “R/T” color scheme was introduced in Japan in October 2018.
The carmaker introduced its first Subaru with a “T-like” color for 2019, and that car, the Subaru Outlander, was introduced with the same “T colour” in March 2020.
However, Subaru decided not to include a “TR-like color” in the 2017 model year, which was made to coincide with the Tokyo Motor Show.
Subaru released a new “TR” color option for the Subaru Impreza, which has been a popular option for a long time.
Subaru is not only offering this color option, but also a “D” variant, which makes it the only automaker to offer this option in its 2019 model year.
Subaru also introduced its “TR”, “T, and “R’ variants of the Outlander crossover this year.
Subramanufacturing company Yokohama Heavy Industries (HII) is in charge of Subaru’s design and manufacturing, and this is where the company is making the changes to the 2018 Subaru Impact.
This is the first time Subaru has introduced a “S” color variant in its new subcompacts, so Subaru hopes this will boost sales and make its new lineup even more popular.HII said in a statement that it expects to launch its “S”- and “T’-branded Subaru Impositions next year.
The automaker is planning to introduce the “S-branded Subaru in 2019, but will not make it available to customers until the 2019 model is introduced.”
Subaru’s next Subaru Impocement will be the Subaru Crosstrek, and the Subaru WRX STI is also scheduled to arrive in the US in the third quarter of 2020.
