Phoenix Manufacturing, which produces home skirts and other manufactured homes, has been growing more sustainably.
The company has been working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to increase its efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
And this week, Phoenix is expanding its sustainability efforts by manufacturing manufactured homes in Florida and Hawaii.
“We have been working on a number of initiatives to improve our manufacturing environment,” says Steve Johnson, president and CEO of Phoenix Manufacturing.
“There are a lot of things we have been able to do through these initiatives to get our manufacturing to a more sustainable level.”
The company’s manufacturing workforce is growing by about 500 people, and Johnson expects that number to increase.
Johnson says that he and his team are also improving the company’s sustainability.
“The main thing we have done is we have spent a lot more time and effort on efficiency and efficiency is one of the biggest things,” he says.
“And also reducing the amount of waste that we use.
And also being able to be environmentally friendly.”
Johnson says the company is also looking to improve its energy efficiency and to reduce its carbon footprint.
He says that since the company first started making manufactured homes back in 2013, it has worked to reduce the amount and amount of energy that goes into making each of its manufactured homes.
The companies goal is to use 100 percent of the energy that it produces and that includes the materials that are used to make the manufactured home.
Johnson believes that the companies goal to reduce carbon emissions is achievable and that the company has worked with other manufacturers to achieve it.
“I think it’s very important to take action on sustainability and to be good stewards of the environment and of the land,” Johnson says.
The Phoenix Manufacturing sustainability initiative comes at a time when many manufacturers are moving to a greener manufacturing approach.
In fact, in the U, more than 40% of manufacturers use recycled materials.
Johnson points to his company as an example of a company that is moving in that direction.
“Phoenix Manufacturing is a big player in this market and it is a great example for other manufacturers and for other companies to follow,” Johnson said.
Johnson has also seen a lot change at Phoenix Manufacturing over the last several years.
In 2018, Johnson says, Phoenix Manufacturing opened its own facility, which now produces products for a wider range of customers.
Phoenix Manufacturing also began producing its own manufactured home products in 2018.
The home skirt manufacturing company has also begun investing in solar and other renewable energy sources.
Johnson also believes that Phoenix Manufacturing has more room to grow in the manufacturing space.
“For Phoenix Manufacturing to grow, they are really in the market for more manufacturing capacity, more manufacturing space, more workforce capacity,” he said.
“So they are very confident and very well positioned in the future of their manufacturing.”
