
Two of the nation’s biggest gun makers — Sturm, Ruger and Smith & Johnson — are among the most popular names in the gun industry, according to a new poll by Public Policy Polling.
But when asked about their overall opinion of gun laws, those companies are just a third of Americans, and about half of Americans don’t know who they are.
The poll found that a majority of Americans — 57 percent — think gun control measures such as background checks are needed to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, while 42 percent said they were unnecessary.
Nearly three-quarters of Americans also believe that gun control laws have a negative impact on crime.
And while a majority say the U.S. should not be in a position of supporting Israel, less than one-third of Americans say the same about the U
